Compulsary Purchase

The compulsory purchase of land may be authorised by compulsory purchase order, development consent order (for nationally significant infrastructure projects), Transport & Works Act Orders or Parliamentary Bills. Each of these complex processes requires navigation with specialist expertise. Where land is compulsorily acquired, fair compensation is due, and the assessment of compensation (and resolving disputes associated with that) is a distinct but related practice area.
