Careers at the Bar: environmental law, planning, and the portfolio approach…

11 Nov 2026
6:00 pm - 7:15 pm

The Planning & Environment Bar Association (PEBA) is hosting an insight evening, aimed at students, in the Inner Temple lecture theatre on Wednesday 11th November at 6pm, titled: “Careers at the Bar: environmental law, planning, and the portfolio approach…”

The evening is intended to give a taste of a career at the Bar, with a focus on planning and environmental law; and the fascinating opportunities it provides to people from all backgrounds and walks of life. The speakers will include junior and senior barristers who will share their experiences and provide guidance and key tips to those considering this career path, including through the mentoring scheme established by a number of chambers, supported by PEBA, for underrepresented groups at the Bar.

The talks will be followed by a drinks reception with the opportunity for more informal discussion with judges and leading barristers from all the main sets that undertake the work.

Registration will be from 6-6.15pm, with the talks starting promptly at 6.15pm, so please ensure you are seated by that time.

NB: There is a minimum age requirement of 18 for those attending.
