PEBA invites you to attend a webinar addressing and discussing the importance of good conduct at planning inquiries.
There is of course much to celebrate about the conduct of advocates and the running of inquiries. But there have also been instances of poor and unacceptable conduct.
The recent review by Baroness Harman on bullying, harassment and sexual harassment has focused minds and urged a changing of culture at the Bar. To that end and as part of a process of openly discussing elements of good and unacceptable practice in areas of work that PEBA members undertake, this webinar seeks to discuss critically important matters with leading practitioners and the Inspectorate.
The webinar will hear from Claire Searson (Professional Lead for Appeals at the Inspectorate), Paul Tucker KC (former PEBA Chair), Victoria Hutton (PEBA Equality and Diversity Officer) and will be chaired by Tom Cosgrove KC (PEBA Chair) They will discuss areas of potential concern, provide views on what constitutes unacceptable conduct, focus on the roles of advocates and Inspectors in addressing conduct issues and explaining what resources exist to assist should such matters arise. There will be an opportunity to ask questions for the panel to address.
